East Central Region CDC/SPC Meeting
The CDCs and SPCs in the East Central Region of North Carolina will be coming together for a meeting on Friday, October 19, 2007, in Raleigh.
This meeting will be held at the BTEC (Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center) on the Centennial Campus of NC State University.
The address is 850 Oval Drive, Raleigh, NC 27606

Agenda
8:30 AM - Registration, refreshments, mingling
9:00 AM - Welcome
BTEC tours, DPI comments, breakout sessions (CDC & SPC), informal discussions, etc.
12:30 PM - break to move to the NC State Fair.
Lunch at the NC State Fair or elsewhere.
Visit Biotechnology exhibits
- State Fair exhibits with an Agricultural Education theme.
- The "Our Land, Our Legacy exhibit" features organizations and programs working to promote North Carolina's agricultural tradition. The exhibit features a Bio Diesel exhibit out the rear entrance and a scavenger hunt to win a State Fair T-shirt. Our Land, Our Legacy is located near Gate 11. Open from 9AM to 9:45PM every day.
- BioNetwork mobile lab - open from 9AM to 10PM every day.

- Get on I-40 heading East.
- Take the Gorman Street Exit #295
- At the bottom of the exit ramp turn left to head North on Gorman Street.
- Drive 1.2 miles
- Turn right on Avent Ferry Road (second traffic signal)
- Drive 1 mile
- Turn Right on Varsity Drive (second traffic signal)
- Stop at the Visitor Information booth and buy a parking permit for $2.00
- Drive to end of Varsity Drive
- Turn left on Partners Way (There is no sign, but it's at the end of Varsity Drive.)
- The parking deck will be on your left. Drive to the deck entrance that does NOT have parking control gates.
- Park your car in any space that is not reserved. Be sure to hang your parking permit on your mirror. As you walk out of the parking deck, you will be looking at the rear of the BTEC building.
- Walk around the left side of the BTEC building to enter from the front of the building.
If the parking deck is full!
- Drive past the parking deck
- Turn right on Main Campus Drive
- Drive past Oval Drive to the parking lot
- Walk back to Oval Drive to get to the BTEC building
Handicap parking is available in front of the building.
- Drive past the parking deck
- Turn right on Main Campus Drive
- Turn Right on Oval Drive
- BTEC is the first building on the right
Direction from the BTEC building to the NC State Fair, 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh.
- Exit parking deck.
- Turn Right on Partners Way
- Turn Right on Varsity Drive (no sign, but it's just after the end of the parking deck)
- Turn Left on Western Boulevard (traffic signal)
There are many restaurants along Western Blvd if you choose to not eat at the Fair. - After going under the I-440 bridge, turn right on Blue Ridge Road (traffic signal)
- Continue on Blue Ridge Road, past the entrance to the fair on the left, and look for fair parking signs. There is plenty of free parking at the fair.
State Fair Parking information includes information about the remote parking/bus possibilities.

The registration fee for this regional meeting is $0.00. Yes, there will be no registration fee!
You might need to bring money for the following:

- lunch
- Fair admission $5 or $7
- deep fried granola bars at the fair - $priceless
